The PTSA wants your help:
Help Wanted: The AHS PTSA invites you to get involved by considering a position on our executive board. We have openings for many committee chairs. Open positions include: After Prom, Hospitality, Website, Community Connections, Cultural Arts, and BSAP Liaison. We also need committee members to help on committees including the After Prom and SAT Preparation committees. PTSA involvement provides a great opportunity to support the school, meet other parents, and stay informed. Please contact Susan Lustbader at president@atholtonptsa.org or 410-531-3670 for more information. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Dear Raider Families,
Welcome to Atholton High School! We are very excited to begin a new school year, and look forward to meeting you and your student soon. Atholton HS is a wonderful place to learn and mature. Our outstanding staff and administration are always eager to teach and support your child. We hope your family will make a strong connection to AHS this year.
We look forward to meeting many of you at New Student & Parent Orientation on Thursday, August 26th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 pm. We also hope to see all parents at Back to School Night on September 16th at 6:45 p.m.
Please join us in welcoming principal Jennifer Clements to AHS. The PTSA invites you and your family to meet Mrs. Clements at an evening open house at the school on Thursday, August 26th. More details will follow by email.
We are thrilled that you are a part of the Atholton HS family and look forward to working with you to support all of the outstanding activities at AHS. Our goal is for the AHS PTSA to be Partners Together Supporting Atholton. This means we will partner with you for the success of your student, we will partner with the school to support its needs, and we will be partners with our community.
Please sign up immediately for the Howard County School email system at www.hcpssnews.com, a primary source of communication about Atholton HS. Returning families need to update their student’s grade on the system. Please plan to visit the AHS PTSA web page often, as well as the school’s website at www.atholton.net. These sites contain information to help you know what’s going on in the school. The AHS PTSA also publishes a monthly online newsletter www.theraidernews.com.
Only the enclosed forms will be mailed, and an hcpssnews message will be sent each month when the newsletter is posted online. If your family does not have internet access, please contact the AHS office so you can obtain hard copies of our newsletter.
Please stay involved with your child by volunteering your time through the PTSA. Your efforts to assist the students, staff and the school are greatly appreciated. The first step is to join the AHS PTSA. The enclosed sheets will offer you some exciting ways to join our team.
The AHS PTSA is here to help you in any way we can. As your children get older, they need you more than ever (despite what they may tell you)! Together we can make this a fantastic year for all of our students. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the school at 410-313-7065 or the PTSA at 410-531-3670 or via email at president@atholtonptsa.org.
Go Raiders!
